Beyond the Yellow Ribbon The "Bedford Boys" of the 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, Company A have once again deployed to defend the cause of freedom. On January 8, 2010, the group of approximately 400 soldier from the battalion will serve on active duty in Iraq. The first thing to do for these soldiers, and the families they leave behind, is to pray for their safety. Here is a list of things the soldiers need now:
A LIST...
- Chap stick
- Baby wipes
- Sunscreen
- Hard candy
- Tooth paste
- Tooth brushes
- Deodorant...(unscented)
- Q-tips
- Singles To Go...(they are the packets you use to flavor bottles of water...grape, strawberry, fruit punch) the guy's love them!
- Boxes of All Occasion Cards
- Recycled News papers and Magazines...(make- sure all names and address are removed from these items!)
- Little pieces of carpet (just big enough to put their feet down on, when they get out of bed) Lots of them have said, that's one thing they really miss from home
- Body wash...(they really don't need soap & shampoo) they don't have that much hair to wash, so a body wash is just fine!
- Pictures...could be off the land around here, maybe pictures of everyone putting the care packages together. Holding up a sign saying God bless you, we love & miss you, thank you, waving at them, stuff like that. I know they will love & appercaite everthing you send them, but those pictures will mean more then anything!!!
